Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer will debut in December

The time has finally arrived: Rockstar Games has officially announced that the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series will release a trailer next month. The new game is expected to be called GTA VI and is expected to feature the series' first female protagonist, who is influenced by Bonnie and Clyde. GTA VI will also reportedly be set in a fictional version of Miami, much like 2002's GTA: Vice City.

Following reports this week announcing the GTA VI announcement, Rockstar Games officially announced today on X (formerly Twitter) that a trailer for the "next Grand Theft Auto" will be released in early December.


It's been a long time coming for GTA fans. Grand Theft Auto V launched a decade ago in 2013 and has since been ported to subsequent hardware - including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S - while the online mode has been a lucrative addition for the developer.


It has long been known that a new Grand Theft Auto game was in the works. Rockstar first confirmed that it was working on the next Grand Theft Auto in February 2022. A huge cache of images from the game also leaked last year, which Rockstar finally confirmed A teenage member of the Lapsus$ hacking team is behind the leaked GTA VI image a London panel I just saw today showed.


Grand Theft Auto V just celebrated its 10th anniversary and sold over 185 million units when it first launched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.
